a-Arbutin
Alpha Arbutin is a plant extract of Arctostahylos uva ursi (bearberry, very popular in Japan and Asia) that inhibits the production of melanin by blocking tyrosinase (enzyme responsible for the production of melanin). It regulates hyperpigmentation by promoting uniform lightening of skin colour.
Boswellic Acid
The plant Boswellia serrata is known as “Shallaki” and has been used since ancient times for its anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Boswellia serrata contains triterpenoids, named boswellic acids, potent inhibitors of 5 -lipoxygenase. This enzyme initiates the route of inflammatory and allergic processes.
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic Acid is extracted from sugar cane, grapes, and beets. It has a very low molecular weight so it penetrates deeply into the skin. It is used for its anti-aging properties, in keratinisation disorders, pigmentation, acne, actinic and seborrhoeic keratosis. It thins the stratum corneum and increases collagen synthesis.
Kojic Acid
Its name comes from the Koji fungus and it is one of the most effective skin lightening products known. Kojic acid inhibits the action of tyrosinase in the melanin production process, which makes it a great active substance to prevent stains and for its skin lightening properties.
Mulberry Extract
Mulberry is an Asian shrub rich in flavonoids with anti-inflammatory, astringent and emollient properties. It is a natural skin lightening agent and, therefore, is used in skin-lightening products and treatment. Sesderma has products containing mulberry extract.
Phytic Acid
Phytic acid is an excellent antioxidant that prevents cell damage which may progress to cancer. Phytic acid prevents reactions between iron and oxygen that produce free radicals which cause skin aging and certain degenerative diseases.
Kojicol plus non-greasy gel (oil-free) corrects melanic pigmentations faster and more lasting than other depigmentators . Based on Kojic acid that inhibits melanogenesis by blocking tyrosinase (the enzyme responsible for the production of melanin). It also has sunscreen properties and moderate bacteriostatic effect, which makes it very useful in the topical treatment of acne lesions. It works with a set of assets: Alpha-Arbutin, Extrato of Phyllanthus. Emblica, phytic acid, boswellic acids and Mulberry Extract with lightening and antioxidant synergistic effect, providing hydration and soothing irritation. The whitening effect of kojic acid is greatly enhanced by the presence of AHAs ( glycolic acid and citric acid), which remove the cornea layer of the skin producing an exfoliation and allowing both kojic acid and phytic acid to reach melanin-loaded cells.
